CureTec Partners with PERMAcast to Build Fully Automated Environmental Component curing System in Western Australia (continued)dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Pellentesque sed sagittis magna.

PERMAcast was founded in 2006 and began as a specialty manufacturer of precast concrete panels for the construction industry. By 2008, PERMAcast diversified into the structural precast market, providing drainage and custom products for a variety of large civil construction projects, focusing on providing custom precast concrete products to meet exact specifications, PERMAcast is also the largest producer of bridges and other infrastructure products in Western Australia.

The beams have a total weight of up to 120 tons per piece and controlled accelerated curing is required to ensure the quality of the product in accordance with authority requirements.

PERMAcast’s order volume increased dramatically, so it procured the new Spanish/European formwork technology. At the same time, PERMAcast conducted a worldwide survey and research on concrete curing technology, and finally chose CureTec with the advantage of “high-tech German technology to help precast industrialization, energy saving and environmental protection to lead the new idea of concrete curing”.

CureTec carried out energy demand calculations in accordance with local statutory requirements and designed the complete system of Steam generator, Tent structure and automated control system to match the needs of the client throughout the seasons.

CureTec engineers were on the project site for two weeks for installation and commissioning works and to train the client in usage and maintenance of the CureSteam system.

For Permacast we used a tailor made container solution equipped with sound insulation, thermal insulation, lighting, ventilation, and air conditioning, so customers can use the container as an equipment operation room.

The CureTec solution includes a motor driven 90m long and 10m wide tent, fully controlled by our CureSteam PLC. The customer only needs to finish the pouring and start the curing at the press of a touch panel and the tent closes automatically before the actual 24 hour curing cycle starts. Once the product curing process is finished, the tent will open automatically, so the clients’ personnel do not need to pay attention to timing but can carry on with their daily tasks.

1. Protection and humidification: tent curing can effectively insulate and moisturize, providing a stable ambient temperature and humidity, which is conducive to the early hardening and strength development of concrete.

2. Improving concrete quality: tent curing prevents excessive evaporation of cement water, reduces the risk of cracking and crazing of concrete, and improves the durability of concrete.

3. Environmental protection: Tent curing can effectively prevent external pollutants from entering the concrete surface and reduce pollution and corrosion of concrete.

4. Protect the concrete surface: tent curing provides shade against light and dust, prevent direct sunlight and wind and sand erosion, protect the flatness and beauty of the concrete surface.

5. Increase construction efficiency: tent maintenance can provide a relatively closed and stable construction environment, reducing the interference of external environmental factors on construction and improving construction efficiency.

In general, the use of tent curing can provide a good concrete curing environment to ensure the quality and performance of concrete products, while improving construction efficiency and environmental protection effects.

For many applications, tent chambers are not the preferred solution, as the insulation is comparably low and the durability limited!

But for the production of special large elements such as large span beams and columns, tent curing is a very convenient method, hence CureTec can provide custom solutions for tents to ensure the viability of the curing results!

CureTec offers the basis for a rational control of the accelerated concrete curing by developing customized solutions for specific projects. Regardless of the climatic conditions on site, CureTec is able to produce high-quality concrete products such as precast concrete elements, paving blocks, sidewalk slabs, railroad sleepers,, bridge elements, etc. in an economical and optimized manner for its customers. In order to optimize the solution, CureTec integrates different system components with advanced software systems to control humidity, temperature and air circulation.
